These tiny leaf dough cutters were a hit in the playdough tub. The colors of the dough mixed beautifully to make shades of red, yellow, orange, and brown.
Look at my Jack-o-Lantern, Mrs. Jennifer! Can you see it? So cute!
This fine motor activity used a "tool" to scrape the black off the leaf, revealing bright colors below. See his concentration and careful work?
A hole punch created the perfet holes to "sew" in class. Using our fingers to manipulate the yarn was tricky, but each student was successful and excited to show off their good work.
Squeezing the hole punch has become a favorite activity lately. In this activity, it is paired with counting and 1:1 correspondence. We are working with numbers up to ten.
This activity had us working with scissors and glue. We have to study the pictures to decide what order to put them in.
These clear plates are for leaf rubbings. Using a crayon without paper on it, and holding it on its side to "rub" seemed funny to the children at first. They were AMAZED when the leaf appeared on their papers!
Our little trees were beautiful after our tiny fingerprints added fall colors.
Reading the color words was just the beginning of this activity. Tracing the leaf before coloring it really helped us to see the border and to do our best when using the colored pencils. They were so careful and many of them are gaining a lot more control.
