We really enjoyed all the books about pets this week.
What a beautiful tower!
Working with playdough is another important job at school.
Using our fingers and cutting tools to work with the dough gives us strong hands.
Learning to work with scissors can be tricky for little fingers.
We begin by doing "snips" and then progress to more complicated patterns.
You can let your little one practice at home by letting him snip pieces of yarn or straws.
Building tall towers requires concentration.
This tabletop center allows him to "write the room".
That requires him to walk around with a clipboard, looking for words, and practice writing.
This is one of our daily tabletop centers.
Look how carefully he handles the pieces to balance and not spill!
Working with letters makes us feel so smart!
It helps to give us the confidence we need for reading.
Cutting and using glue is always a favorite.
This activity also incorporated counting and number recogniton.
"Look Mrs. Jennifer! I painted a storm!"
We had a very rainy week, but the kiddos sure didn't complain.
"Neighborhood Time" was a great way to enjoy all three Kinder Prep classrooms
with our friends and Mrs. Tracy & Mrs. Jen.
The children are working beautifully together sharing materials.
These are tempra paints and they are encouraged to paint whatever they want to.
We let our classmates know about the dogs and cats that we have living with our families. Our graph shows that our class sure does love doggies!
Each student carefully drew a bird for the first time. Our drawing lessons are great for many reasons. Following directions, working one step at a time, fine motor control. They are always so proud of their work! I wish I had room to show you all 16....
These are watercolors. They are painting a goldfish using shades of orange and gold. This painting activity was followed up with letter stamping to spell the word "fish". So smart...
